Weekly Podcast Tip #4: How to Create Authentic Content as a Podcaster

Ever notice you often walk a fine line between being professional and sharing enough of your life with your audience to keep them hooked?

When I first started podcasting, I was afraid to say too much.

  • What if they don't want to hear my story?

  • What I talk too much about me?

  • Who am I to talk about this?

I remember the early days, letting the anxiety of wanting to connect with audiences seep into my content, which then made me sound stiff and boring.

But then I realized that it's okay to share more of my life with my audience. They want me to be myself and be imperfect as long as I stick to my why.

Audiences want real, they don't want stiff, overproduced perfection. Who cares if my cat jumps in on the action (people love when pets make an appearance!) or if I stumble over my words.

It makes it real and establishes a bond between the podcaster and the listener.

Here are my 3 tips on how to create authentic content as a podcaster.

Just remember - be you because everyone else is taken.

Talk soon,

Kristi
