Nashville based singer-songwriter Kelley Jeanne was pursuing a science degree at the University of Pittsburgh when she realized that something was missing in her life - music. She began writing music and performing with her band, moved to Nashville, and was then accepted into CMT’s mentorship program.

Listen in as we talk about how important it is to network, to see your music career as a business and what it’s like to be a female in country music.

Quotes that Stood Out
“It’s a grind and it’s a hustle and you have to be totally prepared to go into this like full force, your nose to the grindstone ready to work hard because if you’re not working hard and if you’re not taking this seriously as a business then nobody else is going to take you seriously either.”

“I think that’s all that everyone wants, is just that equal opportunity”

“Cowriting is so important and it really makes you think outside the box and actually helps develop you as a songwriter.”
