Weekly Podcast Tip #20: Reduce the Overwhelm of Starting a Podcast

Overwhelmed by the idea of starting a podcast? 😥⁣ ⁣

I get it, there’s A LOT to consider and to plan.⁣ ⁣

What seemed like an easy project is now taking up 𝘢𝘭𝘭 of your time ⏰⁣ ⁣

Or, you might still be in the initial planning phases, not sure what step to take next.⁣ ⁣

Don’t panic! 😧⁣ ⁣

Yes, there’s a lot to do and consider, but like any other course, website, or product launch, if you take it one step at a time the project will come easy.⁣ ⁣ Here are a few tips to reduce the overwhelm:⁣ ⁣

1. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀: really understand your intent for the podcast. How will it help you, your business, and your career? Will it complement your content marketing strategy, or will it be your primary marketing tool?⁣ ⁣

2. 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁: inconsistent content and podcaster’s block can create overwhelm and make you feel scattered each week. Decide your content pillars, map out potential episodes, and create a plan for what you want to talk about each week.⁣ ⁣

3. 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁: do you have room in your current marketing budget for a podcast? Research the tools you’ll need and put together a budget just for the podcast. Once you have this, you’ll know what tools you need to purchase or what you can hold off on for the time being.⁣ ⁣

Podcasting can be fun and help you grow your business or career 👩🏼‍💻⁣ ⁣

Don’t let the overwhelm of a podcast launch stop you from creating something amazing ✨⁣
