Episode 47: Being Ready for Change with R0zegld

R0zegld.png

R0zegld, the solo project of singer/songwriter/producer Jen Urban, is my guest in this episode of the podcast.

We chatted about everything from shifts in the industry due to the pandemic, to shifts within ourselves, overcoming fear, and shifting our mindsets to think of our careers in music as a business.

R0zegld released her self-titled album on May 15, 2020 and you can give it a listen on your preferred streaming platform.

Quotes that stood out:

  • “It’s not about faceless names for me anymore...I want to connect with my audience and I want to know who they are and what they think and how they’re feeling”

  • “If you want to keep doing this you have to treat it like a job”

  • Regarding being a woman in the industry: “The biggest thing overcome in this topic is fear”

  • “The change had to come from inside me…I had to just decide ‘I’m not scared anymore’”

  • “We have to malleable, we have to be ready to change”

  • “Invest in yourself”
