Do you ever feel like the hustle catches up to you? That one moment you have all these plans, and the next you're just trying to catch your breath, make sure you're getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, and keeping up with everyone?

Starting today, I’m letting go. Writing from the heart, putting my business together, and releasing it to the world. I may not be an expert, but I have my own life experiences to share. It’s not going to be perfect the first go-round. It’ll be rough around the edges, may not be at the right price point, and may not be what someone’s looking for.

When I think back to the beginning, and I mean to before I launched the podcast, the blog, and my site, to before I thought of the idea of highlighting women in the music industry and providing resources to women just starting out, to before I even thought of being an entrepreneur (basically we’re going back to literally day 1 of 2018), I realized it all came from one Tweet.

As artists, entrepreneurs, and business women we all experience the same thing - hustling until we're exhausted, taking on more than we can handle to prove ourselves, and for some of us, letting other people suck our personal energy dry.

The Internet and mobile devices opened an incredible opportunity for an affordable, or even free, business education through podcasts, blogs, and business platforms. There are abundant resources available online, beyond the traditional classroom, and these are just a few that motivate and educate me post-college in business, marketing, relationships, networking, and even self-care.

Ah resumes. Another part of the job search that job seekers love to hate, but one of the most important, and necessary, tools to secure a job.

Networking.

I know, I know. It's the dreaded word that even the most extroverted of us tend to hate.

Whether you're starting a record label, publishing company, or you're an artist, you should decide which type of business organization you're going to register your business under. Yes, even artists and bands should choose a business type and register as a business.
